This chemical is used as an insecticide, pediculicide, scabicide, ectoparasiticide and a pesticide. It is also used as a foliar spray and soil application for insecticidal control of a broad spectrum of phyto- phagous and soil dwelling insects, animal ectoparasites and public health pests. It is used on ornamentals, fruit trees, nut trees, vegetables, tobacco and timber. This chemical is found in baits and seed treatments for rodent control. It acts as a stomach and contact poison and has some fumigant action. It has been of value in the control of malaria and other vector-borne diseases and in the control of grasshoppers, cotton insects, rice insects, wireworms and other soil pests. It is used in pet shampoo to maintain the natural luster of the coat and aid in the prevention of ticks, lice and sarcoptic mange mites. It is also used on patients in the treatment of head and crab lice and their ova. Urinary antiseptic agent. Rubber accelerator and formaldehyde liberator. In the production of phenol-formaldehyde resins. Preservative in cosmetic products. Epoxy curing agent. Corrosion inhibitor for steel (hexamine).ABCD. METHENAMINE.

In the determination of tungsten and sulfates and in the preparation of azo dyes, cross-linking agent for epoxy resins, in the preparation of isocyanates and polyisocyanates, in the rubber industry, as a curative for neoprene, as a anti-frosting agent (anti- oxidant) in footwear and raw material in preparation of poly(amide-imide) resins (used in magnet wire enamels). Curing agent for epoxy resins and urethane elastomers. As corrosion inhibitor. Rubber additive (accelerator, antidegradant, retarder) in tires and heavy rubber products. Also used in adhesives and glues, laminates, paints and inks, PVC products, handbags, eyeglass frames, plastic jewelry, electric encapsulators, surface coatings, spandex clothing, hairnets, eyelash curlers, earphones, balls, shoe soles, face masks. May produce erythema multiforme like eruptions.

C5H14N2 | 102.18 | D-053 |
Intermediate substance in the synthesis of alkylamidopropyldimethylamines/alkylamidobetaines and found as an impurity in cosmetic surfactants present in e.g. shampoos. 3-(Dimethylamino)propylamine, (DMPA) is also used as a hardener of epoxy resins, as an additive in fuel, dyes, pesticides and binding agents. It is also used in the production of ion-exchangers.

C6H12N2 | 136.19 | X-001 | 1,3-bis(aminomethyl)benzene 1,3-Benzenedimethanamine, Benzene, m-Phenylenebis(methylamine), m-Xylene-alpha,alpha'-diamine |
Use:The chemical is an intermediate in the production of epoxy curing agents, polyamides and polyurethanes. Due to the chemical binding processes that occur during curing, finished products do not contain the chemical. The substance is also not present in the industrial intermediates used in the production of polyamides and polyurethanes, but a few percent is present in the epoxy curing agent. The great majority of the epoxy curing agent is assumed to be used by industrial or professional users. Greater than 99.9% of the substance is used in three categories: polyamide (major), epoxy curing agent, and polyurethane production.
