Accelerator, retarder, and peptizer for natural and other rubber products such as shoes, gloves, rubber in undergarments and clothing, condoms and diaphragms, medical devices, toys, tires and tubes, renal dialysis equipment, swimwear. Fungicide. Corrosion inhibitor in soluble cutting oils and antifreeze mixtures. Also used in greases, adhesives, photographic film emulsions detergents, veterinary products such as tick and flea powders and sprays.

This compound is used as a preservative, disinfectant and antiseptic, in embalming solutions and in the manufacture of phenolic resins, artificial silk, cellulose esters, dyes, urea, thiourea, melamine resins, organic chemicals, glass mirrors and explosives. It is also used in improving fastness of dyes on fabrics, in tanning and preserving hides, in mordanting and waterproofing fabrics, as a germicide and fungicide for vegetables and other plants, in destroying flies and other insects, in preserving and coagulating rubber latex and to prevent mildew and spelt in wheat and rot in oats. It is used to render casein, albumin, and gelatin insoluble, in chemical analysis, as a tissue fixative, as a component of particle board and plywood and in the manufacture of Pentaerythritol, Hexamethylenetetramine and 1,4-Butanediol. It is also used in ceiling and wall insulation, in resins used to wrinkle-proof fabrics, in photography for hardening gelatin plates and papers, for toning gelatin-chloride papers and for chrome printing and developing. It is an intermediate in drug manufacture and a pesticide intermediate. Used in the production of urea, phenolic melamine and acetale resins. In textile products. Mix of various fragrance ingredients commonly causing dermatitis from perfumed products.

Sesquiterpene lactone isolated from the Compositae plant Saussurea lappa. The oil which is extracted from Saussurea lappa is used in perfumery and in the Orient for all kinds of diseases. Costunolide is present in the plant together with dehydrocostus lactone. May cause airborne contact dermatitis.

The methylchloro isothiazolinone component in Kathon biocides, for use as a preservative in oil and cooling fluids, soaps, latex emulsions, slime control in paper mills, jet fuels, milk sampling, radiography, printing inks, moist toilet paper, detergents, shampoos, hair conditioners, hair & body gels, bubble baths, skin creams & lotions, mascaras, etc. Kathon CG: contains also methylisothiazolinone and magnesium salts. Nonhalogenated corticosteroid for use in topical preparations and for the treatment of rhinitis and asthma. Belongs to the group B (triamcinolone acetonide) type of corticosteroids. Good marker of corticosteroid allergy.

USES: Topical corticosteroid belonging to the group A (hydrocortisone) type of steroids used in nasal sprays for the treatment of rhinitis. Good marker for group A corticosteroid contact allergy. ABCD.

Conservateur used in oil for iron, cosmetics, adhesves, latex emulsion and paint.  Pigments dispersed and detergents.  Actif ingredient in l'Euxyl K400 and Tektamer 38. 1,2-DIBROMO-2,4-DICYANOBUTANE

Fragrance known for it's soft delicate floral, lilly, cyclamen note reminiscent of hydroxycitronellal. Used in products such as alcoholic lotion, anti perspirant, deo stick, detergent perborate, detergent TAED, fabric softener, hard surface cleaner, shampoo and soap. Stabilized with 0,1% BHT.

Component in Kathon CG preservative for use in cosmetics, shampoos, cooling fluids, detergents etc.) Mixed with 5-Chloro-2-methyl-4- isothiazolin-3-one (see this compound for further information).

Among the textile dyes, disperse dyes are common sensitizers. Therefore a mix containing the most available disperse dyes were made for patch testing. These are dyes that normally is found in different fabrics and clothes.
